They say knowledge is a powerful thing.  So, why is it that knowledge of our unproductive habits or behaviors does not come with the power to change them and provide a more successful business?  

Try this for a simple answer: It’s not the most valuable knowledge you can have.

The more powerful choice is to identify, enhance and focus on your strengths, not weaknesses.  Why spend time trying to overcome shortcomings when you can immediately increase your effectiveness and productivity by capitalizing on your strengths and talents?  As your coach, a fundamental aspect of my role is to help you identify and maximize the use of your strengths, values, and priorities.

Creating change in self-defeating behaviors, responses and attitudes is a long-term project; beyond the scope of any training program, workshop, seminar or audiotape.  Generally, training programs do not take into consideration the uniqueness of your existing skills, motivation or commitment, and  do  not usually result in radical shifts in your thinking and actions.  And, rarely does training come with follow-up support for what you've heard or learned.
You generally go back to work, or go home, to an environment that hasn’t been turned on by the power of what you may have learned.  It’s pretty tough to keep your commitment to making necessary changes when you’re the only one who feels it.
